Tillamook and the Tillamook Cheese Factory is located just 70 miles from Portland and can be made part of a great weekend trip to the beach. The visitor's center is a great place to take kids - it's nicely set up to learn interactively about where milk and cheese come from and to see it actually being made. And, of course, there's plenty of opportunity to taste and enjoy the ice cream!
